Facilitated by Ray Martinez

Former Naval Special Warfare. Somatic Regulation Practitioner. Integration Guide.

For most of my adult life, I was hanging on by a thread. I abused alcohol and drugs for over twenty years. Despite being able to operate in high-pressure environments, take care of my responsibilities and maintain a respectable level of performance, I was suffering internally. Over time, everything began to feel like a constant fight and harder than it needed to be.

The breaking point came when I moved out of my home, separating from my wife and daughter and on the brink of divorce.  Due to emotional suppression, amongst other things, I was about to lose my family.  Before that, I had tried all conventional routes to keep my family intact — marriage counseling, bible studies, visited with psychiatrists and even took antidepressants thinking it might somehow improve my situation. Not one of these routes offered any lasting positive change.

When I was introduced to plant medicine by a former teammate, everything shifted from that point. The real transformation came from integration — learning how to regulate my nervous system, confronting patterns that no longer served me, and committing to consistent inner work.

That process helped me repair my marriage and step into sustained sobriety after more than two decades of substance abuse.

Expansion Project comes from that lived experience.

This work is real and it is to be shared with all who are suffering and/or trying to overcome from situations that feel hopeless.  And from healing our traumas we can then expand and move into the greatest version of ourselves.
